Project Description
The Wavey Wall is an artistic dry stone wall, created as a backdrop to the client’s newly developed Japanese garden.
Made with buff Cumbrian Alston stone and gray Caithness flagstone sandstone. The flowing water and rocks that feature heavily in the garden are mirrored in the wall. The Alston stone provides the bedrock and the Caithness the flow. The dry stone wall weaves its way between large boulders.
Four of the boulders have carvings in Japanese script for the seasons – haru, natsu, aki, fuyu. The carvings in the large stone boulders were done by the Perth-based artist David F Wilson.
