Project Description
This was the second dry stone seat with a view that I made this year. This one was made from a mix of purple and blond reclaimed sandstone with a big piece of larch for the bench.
The reclaimed stone gave it a big and chunky look – the cheek-end was particularly strong looking and the copes were deliberately made cuboid to enhance the scale of the stone work.
The circular design was inspired by sheep folds or sheep fanks seen across the hills of Scotland.
