Project Description
This job required me to build new front garden dry stone walls and a new set of steps. There had been something like three years since first meeting the clients to actually starting. The clients were engaged in major building works at the time, and the front garden project was put on hold.
After being given the go ahead this autumn, the old masonry walls in the front garden were removed and replaced with new dry stone walls made with Alston stone from Cumbria. A new set of steps was build in a pleasing bell-mouth shape to showcase the entrance. Black limestone paving was used for the colour contrast.
The project still has two aspects to finish off – replacing the concrete steps to the house and adding in some paving between the lower steps and upper.
The Alston stone was supplied by Border Aggregates, paving and extra stone by CED stone group and aggregates by McNairs Building supplies
