Project Description
This garden dry stone wall was the second such project in a fortnight this summer. The client had an old masonry wall dating back more than 100 years, and asked for it to be replaced with a new dry stone wall. We used 2 1/2 tonnes of Alston stone on this one and took four days to build it.
This job was fun to do as a lot of people stopped to chat and make positive comments. The job also holds the record for the most work enquiries in a single day – six! As a result of doing this job, I’ve been commissioned by one of the neighbours to replace their front garden dry stone wall, maybe have a second neighbours to do and found some re-pointing work for a stone mason friend.
The Alston stone was supplied by Border Aggregates of Kelso.
